Background

The G.O.R.D. organization was formed in honor of Lynn Gordon Bailey Jr., "Gordie." Gordie was a freshman at the University of Colorado who died of acute alcohol poisoning a month into his freshman year.

We expect all individuals to abide by the following guidelines:

I:    I will understand the risks involved.
II:   I will be mindful of my surroundings.
III:  I will spread awareness.

Welcome_080815

Welcome,

As members of GORD and students primarily out of the University of Colorado at Boulder, we extend a warm and open invitation to you to learn more about us, and participate in our fight for cultural change. We are here to serve communities at large and society as a whole by providing students with education on the dangerous effects of alcohol. We are a social responsibility group asking peers to take the proper precautions when drinking. We understand that students and young people alike may not be fully aware of the dangers that come when one chooses to drink irresponsibly. Since the tragic loss of Lynn “Gordie” Bailey (click here to read more about Gordie) we have made an effort on college campuses nationwide, as well as at many high schools in Colorado, to create awareness among the student body. Our education is based on promoting self-awareness and giving teens the knowledge to make the right decisions around alcohol. Please take the time now to browse our website and become familiar with who we are.

Thank you and enjoy your visit,

Sincerely,

The Board of Directors
